Functional Skills Maths is a 12 week programme that can help build your skills and confidence, some of the topics that will be covered include:
- working with fractions
- decimal places
- percentages and ratios
- conversion
- measurements
- volumes
- data tables
- probability and analysis
We support you through this development journey working towards passing the accredited qualification Functional Skills Maths Level 1 or Level 2

Introduction to Functional Skills Maths

This is a short introduction for learners who are considering enrolling onto the full accredited Functional Skills course and gives an overview of the programme, including course content and the input required from the learner.

Preparation for Functional Skills Maths
Weekly classes
This short course is designed for individuals who either want to enrol in a full Functional Skills program or simply want to refresh their basic maths skills. Over four weekly, hour-long classes, you can participate in this standalone course to rebuild your skills or to prepare for the longer programme. The course will cover:
- Multiplication
- Division
- Subtraction and complex adding
- Fractions
You will develop a foundation in these essential skills, enabling you to operate effectively in a variety of contexts or to prepare for further education where a Functional Skills qualification is required to progress.

Functional Skills Maths E3 Course
Weekly classes
The purpose of Functional Skills Mathematics Entry Level qualifications is to demonstrate a sound grasp of the basics of mathematical skills, and the ability to apply mathematical thinking to solve simple problems in familiar situations.

This qualification is designed for learners who wish to develop their mathematical skills to help them gain the most from work, education and everyday life.

Functional Skills Maths Level 2 Fast Track Course

Functional Skills Maths Level 2 is accepted by many employers and higher education institutions as an alternative to a GCSE Maths 9 to 4 (A* to C). This qualification is designed for learners who wish to develop their mathematical skills to help them gain the most from work, education and everyday life.
This is a new fast-track Functional Skills Maths Level 2 course, where you could achieve you a recognized qualification in 8 weeks in time for September 2024.

These courses are free for those who meet all the following funding requirements:
– you live in a London /Greater London Borough*
– you are not in full time education
– you have not achieved this qualification before
– you are aged 19 or older on 31st August 2024
-Have permission to live in the UK for at least 12 months from the first day of learning
If you don’t have permission to live in the UK for 12 months from the first day of learning there are exemptions which can be discussed with the IAG advisor that will contact you.
