You’ll gain a deep understanding of legislation, codes of practice, and the importance of equality, diversity, and rights in healthcare.
Whether you’re just starting out or looking to progress in your current role, this course will give you the confidence and expertise to make a real difference in people’s lives.
Course content includes:
- Equality, diversity, and rights legislation and codes of practice.
- The key elements of development and significant events across the human lifespan.
- Recognising the signs, symptoms, and behaviours that may indicate that someone in your care is at risk.
- The legislation, policies, and procedures that can help you take action.
About You:
You do not need to be employed to undertake this course and it is ideal for someone who wants to progress into health and social care or is already working in the sector and wants to refresh and build their knowledge. You are committed to your professional development.
What You Need to Know
This course will take approximately 4-5 months to complete, with some self-managed study and 121 support available throughout the duration of the course
There will be monthly online workshops and you must be able to complete self-study exercises between classroom assignments.
Qualification upon completion: Level 3 Award in Health and Social Care.

Eligibility Requirements
Once registered we will contact you to check your eligibility before starting the enrolment process. To be eligible for funding for this course, learners must:
- Be aged 19+
- Live in London
- Have not already achieved a L3 or above qualification. Please note if you earn under £27,007.50 you are eligible for funding even if you already have a L3 or above qualification
Please note if you are not eligible for funding we do provide a fee paying option for the course of £650.

About You:
You are an experienced care sector employee in a role such as lead adult care worker or lead personal assistant and are ready to move to the next level. You are committed to your professional development.

The course will cover a wide range of adult care skills, such as:
- Responsibilities of a care worker
- Promoting safeguarding and protection in care settings

- Equality and inclusion, health, safety and wellbeing
You are required to undertake 9 mandatory units enabling you to demonstrate knowledge and skills in the above subject areas. You will also be able to develop your knowledge and skills with optional, job-specific units, suitable for your role and development.
There will be monthly online workshops and self-directed activities that you will need to complete, with support available throughout the course.
You must be able to complete self-study exercises between classroom assignments.
