Wandsworth lifelong learning guide.

Learn Something New This Autumn

Sign up now for a wide range of courses offered by Wandsworth Council’s Lifelong Learning team (WCLL).

Working in partnership with several other organisations, WCLL offers an extensive range of community learning courses, apprenticeships and other accredited qualifications. This includes personal development and employability courses, management qualifications, apprenticeships in administration, management, health and social care and becoming a teaching assistant.

WCLL also runs free courses for English as a Second Language (ESOL) and English and Mathsleading to a recognised qualification and making it easier to get a job. And for 18 to 24-year olds, there is the Head 2Work programme which focusses on the skills you need to develop to take the next step into the world of work.

In fact, Wandsworth Council Lifelong Learning has launched so many new courses this year, we thought you might be interested in what some of our participants said:

“I had very good experience. The teacher was absolutely perfect. She made the course really enjoyable and she opened my eyes to how I am managing myself and my life”.

“The online Customer Service class has been very informative and a new experience considering I have not attended an on-line class previously.  It was a pleasure meeting Donna (tutor) and the class colleagues”.

“I’m also really grateful to Sam, my tutor. She supported me through all the process, and she encouraged me when I needed her help the most. She helped me improve my English writing skills, and understanding the British Education System”

Cabinet member for Economic Development, Skills and Employment, Councillor Aled Richards-Jones said:

“We are really pleased to offer such a diverse range of learning opportunities in the borough.

This year, we are doing things a bit differently. In response to the coronavirus pandemic, Lifelong Learning has developed an additional, comprehensive online offer. And when we resume physical classes, those will operate from our newly refurbished site, the Gwynneth Morgan Resource Centre in East Hill.

As well as increasing the number of courses directly delivered by the Lifelong Learning team, we are working with some new learning providers to ensure that learning opportunities can be easily accessed by Wandsworth residents.”

If you are thinking about what might suit you, there is still time to enquire about available courses. Take a look at our Quick Reference Guide here, which signposts you to learning opportunities in the borough.

With all of this on offer, you may feel that you would benefit from individual support and our experienced careers guidance counsellors can help you:
