The objectives of this qualification are to enable learners to gain invaluable insights into various types of dementia, the importance of early diagnosis, and person-centred approaches to care. You’ll learn how to effectively communicate and interact with individuals living with dementia, promoting inclusion and enhancing their quality of life. Additionally, you’ll develop a deep understanding of medication management in dementia care, ensuring you can provide safe and appropriate support.

You do not need to be employed to undertake this course or you may be working in a suitable care setting and are ready to move to the next level to pursue a career in this rewarding sector. You are committed to your professional development.
What You Need to Know
This course will take approximately 10 months to complete, with some self-managed study and 121 support available throughout the duration of the course
There will be monthly online workshops and you must be able to complete self-study exercises between classroom assignments.
Qualification upon completion: Level 3 Certificate in Understanding the Principles of Dementia Care.

Eligibility Requirements
Once registered we will contact you to check your eligibility before starting the enrolment process. To be eligible for funding for this course, learners must:
- Be aged 19+
- Live in London
- Have not already achieved a L3 or above qualification. Please note if you earn under £25,462.50 you are eligible for funding even if you already have a L3 or above qualification
