Wandsworth Lifelong Learning courses ended on the 18th March, due to Government restrictions on social interaction, but we have quickly adapted our provision to the on-line world. For the time being, physical meetings have been replaced by virtual meetings using Teams, GoToMeeting, WhatsApp and other platforms. There are advantages in using technology to strengthen the work that we do and this is an area that we will develop considerably in the coming months.
The process of transferring our courses on-line is well underway and the first course went live on the 3rd of April. We are now contacting all learners and employers as new learning opportunities become available. Details will also be posted on all social media channels.
The transition to working remotely has been supported by collaborating with other heads of service in central London. Keep London Learning is an agile, pop-up business continuity response to the Covid-19 outbreak. The initiative brings together remote learning interventions offered by the 12 adult education services in central London. Held in a single maintained Keep London Learning site, this portal will provide residents access to the available learning opportunities during this period of restricted movement. The site is already prototyped and will go live by 20.04.20.
