  • Apprenticeships
    Apprenticeships give you the opportunity to earn, learn and grow with an employer. Some apprenticeships even offer a qualification equivalent to a degree – a great alternative to studying away at University.

  • Traineeships or Work Experience
    These give you the chance to get in front of potential employers and experiences the real life of different jobs.

Apprenticeships

Work-based qualifications – meaning you work and earn, with usually one study day a week. For ages 16+.


  • How Long?

    Takes between 1-2 years to complete. Some are the equivalent of a degree.

  • How much?

    Minimum wage for apprentice’s is £3.50 per hour, although many employers pay more.

  • What can I do?

    There are apprenticeships in Advanced Management, Business Administration, Customer Service, Health & Social Care, Teaching Assistant, Team Leading and Fire, Emergency and Security Systems.

Traineeships

A great way for you to get the skills and experience an employer is looking for. For ages 16-24.


  • How Long?

    Runs as a 9 week programme.

  • Type of Work?

    High quality, focused work placement available in a variety of sectors including administration, retail and health & social care.

  • Who can take part?

    Available to anyone unemployed (or working less than 16 hrs per week), able to commit to 9-week programme and aged between 16-24 (no degree applicants).

Work Experience

Adding experience to your CV will improve your chances of employment and acceptance into further education. For ages 14-19.


  • How Long?

    Normally 1-2 weeks.

  • What will I get?

    Develop skills, make contacts and learn about what different jobs really feel like.

  • What can I do?

    There are work experience placements in Management, Business Administration, Customer Service, Health & Social Care, Teaching Assistant, Team Leading.
