Apprenticeships – All you need to know and an invitation to our Apprenticeship Breakfast

Over the past year there have been significant reforms to apprenticeships, with emphasis on improving their relevance, and to make them much more accessible to increased numbers of participants.

Apprenticeships are not just for young people entering the labour market but for adults of all ages, even those already in employment! Having said this we are always interested in meeting young people who are interested in an apprenticeship, and equally interested in employers willing to provide the apprenticeship opportunity!!

Lifelong Learning has expanded its apprenticeship offer to include the following subject areas: Management, Customer Service, Business Admin, Support Teaching and Learning in Schools, Facilities Management, Child Care and Health and Social Care.

Very recent developments have included Business Administration level 4 and Public Sector Operational Delivery Officer level 3.

Since the apprenticeship levy was introduced last year we have recruited extremely good numbers in most subject areas. The management apprenticeships at levels 3 and 5, accredited through the Institute of Leadership and Management have been particular popular.

Many employers are finding their way to the service through the apprenticeship hotline which was launched last autumn.  This is still very much in operation and all staff are busy preparing for National Apprenticeship Week which takes place between the 5th and 9th March 2018.  As part of the week we have just finalised arrangements for a breakfast event on March 7th.  We are delighted that the Banham Academy is hosting the event, and also pleased  to be working with Wandsworth Chamber of Commerce and Rinova. You’ve read this far, which must mean that you are still interested.   So, let us help you recruit your apprentices and/or help you to use apprenticeship funding to train your existing staff to positively impact on your business.
